PSC suspends APS cheating cases at DA's request | ajc.com
They weren't lying when they said it's hard to fire a teacher: two-years suspension and certificate revocation for administrators." I would like to know what everyone's thoughts are about tenureship. Personally, I don't think education reform could progress with it, but I want to know who others feel. And I certainly don't see reform happening as long as there is an over-emphasis on high-stakes testing. And now they're thinking about performance pay!!?? Recipe for disaster....
My best buddy is being affected by this situation, and I know for a fact he had nothing todo with the scandal but was implicated because he turned on his principal and reported some unethical things that were happening at the school. Honestly, I feel the leadership should pay in this situation and be dealt with accordingly. Those who they can prove did something should be handled also but let people move on and stop dragging this out. Tax payers money is being wasted and the children are suffering.
Sounds like your boy is in a similar situation as ol' boy in the Scent of a Woman movie. Not exactly like it, but a little similar in that your boy was implicated because he acted with integrity and reported those involved with unethical behaviors at school. Dude from "Scent" was up against the firing squad because he acted with integrity by not selling out when he was bribed with a scholarship to Harvard. The underlying theme is that crack kills and so does integrity. Integrity can cost you your job, your life, or whatever else you care deeply about. As a 21st century transformational leader, you ready for the task? I am! I think I'm going to expound on this "crack kills" metaphor when I post about Scent of a Woman. I think I'm on to something with that one.
